Room Estate is an established and fast growing coliving provider based in Switzerland. The offering is tailored to the fast-paced and independent lifestyle of young and ambitious people. All rental processes are fully digitized – making it easier for tenants to use the service. Launched in 2014 with the first rooms in Zurich, the company gradually expanded its offering to currently ten locations throughout Switzerland and neighboring countries – and was named one of Europe’s most promising PropTech companies in 2019.

From a standing start into the professional cloud ERP solution

This successful concept is accompanied by strong growth – including international expansion. To manage this successfully, a professional cloud ERP solution is needed in the background. A solution for a scalable business model was needed; one that keeps a clear eye on the company’s KPIs, maps all operational and commercial processes, and uses cross-border intercompany processes of different legal entities.

The founders of Room Estate had already leaned on SAP’s standard processes at the beginning, since SAP is the global leader in the field of industrial standard processes. They then found a “perfect fit” in all4cloud Schweiz AG for the implementation of the desired SAP cloud ERP solution.

Implementation and go-live within 4 weeks

The solution: SAP Business ByDesign. The unified cloud ERP system links all of Room Estate’s business units based on proven best practices and detailed analytics, and is a perfect complement to the existing Room Estate app.

As a start-up, Room Estate naturally had little legacy data from a previous system, so implementation was comparatively quick. Implementation and go-live were completed in just four weeks, and Room Estate employees were trained in the new solution through regular coaching and the SAP Learning Hub. Precisely set authorization models facilitate work and clarity.
